Be useful

Prefer methods you’ve actually used, with quantities, times, tools, and failure modes. Cite tested sources for high-risk topics (canning, water treatment, first aid). Correct yourself when you learn better. Comments that improve a note are welcome.

Be civil

Disagree with the method, not the person. No harassment, hate, threats, or doxxing. No brigading or pile-ons.

Stay legal and safe

Do not post content that plans or encourages violent crime, theft, or other illegal activity. Do not share others’ private information. Do not post sexual content involving minors (zero tolerance). General legal preparedness discussion is not an invitation to break the law.

High-risk topics

For canning, water, fuel, electrical, structural, medical, and first aid: state assumptions and limits of your experience. Prefer tested, published processes over improvisation for low-acid canning and drinking water. Do not present experimental methods as safe defaults. Readers must still verify against current authoritative guidance.

Spam and enforcement

No bulk promo, affiliate dumping, or misleading claims. Occasional mention of a tool or book you actually use is fine when it serves the note. Fake accounts and vote manipulation are not allowed.

We may hide or remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts. Serious or repeated violations may result in a permanent ban. Report problems via the report control on a post or comment, or email support@root-cellar.com.
